Noboru Aoyagi

Noboru Aoyagi, 87, died April 7, 2019, in Las Vegas. He worked for Oahu Plumbing in Honolulu and was owner of NA Plumbing in Hilo.

A celebration of life (Buddhist ceremony) will be held 10 a.m. May 15 at Davis Funeral Home-Rainbow Chapel, 1401 S. Rainbow Boulevard. Visitation starts at 9 a.m. and interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev.

Preceded in death by son, William Aoyagi.

Survived by wife, Ann Aoyagi; children, Corrine Largo, Paulette Aoyagi, Terry Aoyagi; siblings, Dusty Aoyagi, Caroline Marrero, Lillian Chang, Alshild Clark, Tom Aoyagi, Marjorie Iwamoto, Hisao Aoyagi, Esther Hayashi and Marcia Drake; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lynn Glaspey

Lynn Ellen Weiss Glaspey, 68, died March 18, 2019. Born in Chicago, she enjoyed many years in Kamuela and moved to Tucson, Ariz., in 2014.

Survived by son, Jesse Glaspey; daughter, Kristen Orr (Ethan); brother, Lee Weiss (Cathy); sister, Lori Brown (John); two grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Robert Jenkins

Robert “Bobby” Manuel Jenkins, 88, of Holualoa, died March 27, 2019, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu on Sept. 22, 1930, he was a retired chief agent with Hawaiian Airlines, a cattle rancher and a macadamia nut farmer.

No services are planned. No koden.

Survived by wife, Alice Jenkins of Holualoa; sons, Gary Jenkins of Honolulu, Brian (Carvat) Jenkins of Holualoa and James (Kyoko) Jenkins of Kailua-Kona; sister, Stella Aiu of Honolulu; three grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Rochelle Javillo

Rochelle Kumukoa Javillo, 52, of Kapaau, died March 30, 2019, at her residence. Born in Kohala on May 16, 1966, she was a laundry attendant and temporary supervisor at the Hilton Waikoloa Beach Resort and a member of the Hawaiian Civic Club.

Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. April 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Mass will begin at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire and no flowers.

Survived by husband, Clayton Javillo of Kapaau; sons, Devin Javillo and Caleb Javillo of Kapaau; daughter, Shaleese Javillo of Colorado; mother, Marylin Kumukoa of Kapaau; brothers, Stanley Kumukoa, Jr. and Bruce Kumukoa of Kapaau; hanai daughter, Chawncy Kaholoaa-Kumukoa of Kapaau; two grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Albert Kelii Pi, Jr.

Albert “Alapaki” Kelii Pi Jr., 83, of Kailua-Kona, died March 26, 2019, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Kalahiki, Hawaii on April 13, 1935, he retired as a heavy equipment operator for Isemoto Construction Company. He also worked for J.M. Tanaka Construction, General Contractors and Stewart Pacific Contracting and Hutchinson Sugar Plantation in Naalehu. He was a member of the Keopu Kumiai, Mokuaikaua Congregational Church.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. April 20 at Mokuaikaua Congregational Church on Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. luncheon and fellowship to follow. Burial will be at Mokuaikaua Church cemetery. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Survived by daughters, Ramona (Allen) Gaspar of Ocean View, Aileen (Lincoln) Correa of University Place, Wash., and Alicia Pi of Kailua-Kona; sons, Leroy Pi and Albert (Noelani) Pi, III of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Annie (Ronald I.) Pi Taisee of Keaau, Mary Hanley of Tacoma, Wash., Minne (Leo) Davis of Missouri, Teresa Duarte of Holualoa, Juliette Kealamakia of Ocean View, Victoria (Spencer) Akiu of Wailuku, Maui, Ruthie (Rodrigo) Sadumiano of Ocean View; brothers, Clarence (Beatrice) Pi of Waianae, Oahu, Fedelis Akiu, Jr. of Kealia, Antonio Akiu of Milolii and Charles Akiu of Holualoa; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Floyd Amay

Floyd Amay, 54, of Hilo, died March 25, 2019, in Hilo. He was born in Hilo in April 1965.

Survived by father, Julio Amay of Hilo; brothers, Benjamin (Beatrice) Amay of Hilo and James Amay of Hilo.

John Hutchins

John Hutchins, 65, of Pahoa, died March 25, 2019, in Hilo. Born in Oregon in July 1953, he was a carpenter and gardener.

A celebration of life to be held at a later date.

Survived by sisters, Judy (Dave) Kirk and Jan (Max) Buffington; one aunt and many nieces and nephews; his lifelong friend, James Young.

Gertrude Lorenzo

Gertrude Kekeluka Lorenzo, 76, of Honokaa, died March 6, 2019, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born on Aug. 15, 1942, in Hamakua, she worked as a taro farmer, mac nut picker, operator at Hamakua Plantation, bartender at Gil’s Bar, worked at Tex Drive Inn, retired custodian with the State of Hawaii, and Hawaii Saddle Club 1968 Rodeo Queen.

Services to be held April 13 at Gertrude’s residence, 46-4173 Waipio Road, Honokaa. Viewing will be 8-9 a.m.; service from 9-11 a.m. Lunch to follow.

Survived by sons, Robin (Momi) Lorenzo, Donny Lorenzo, Daryl Lorenzo, hanai-son, Kelcy Kanekoa all of Honokaa; daughters, Donna Asia, Lisa (Al) Lorenzo both of Honokaa; step-daughter, Tina Lorenzo of New York; brothers, Clinton Ah Puck, Handy (Eko) Ah Puck both of Maui; sisters, Pansy Kawabata, Iwa Ah Puck both of Honokaa, Mapuana (Edmund) Pali of Hilo; three sisters-in-law; 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
